Install Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY from App Store. After completing the installation, start Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY and set up the smartphone or tablet.

1. Registering Printer with Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY

Add your printer to HP Smart and follow the guided setup to connect to your computer or mobile device

Note: If you have a wireless router, connect the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the wireless router. If you do not have a wireless router, enable Wi-Fi in the Wi-Fi settings screen on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. For the operation procedure, see the manual supplied with the wireless router, or contact the manufacturer of the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or wireless router.

2. Make your HP printer more secure (wireless only)

Note: Screens displayed may vary depending on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

Check that printer is turned on.
Start application.

If the following screen appears, tap Yes, and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to a network.

Once the network connection is complete, skip ahead to Step 12.

3. Map (Register Printer) at upper left of screen.

If the following screen appears, tap OK, and then proceed to the next step.

4. Tap printer name that appears.

If your printer does not appear, skip ahead to Step 6.

Note: Detection may take time. If the printer is not detected even though its network connection is already complete, check that the printer is connected to the same wireless router as your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

5. Check if your printer appears at the top of the screen.

When the registered printer appears at the top of the screen, setup is complete. There is no need to perform the steps below.

Note: The following screen appears only when registering a printer.

6. Tap If Printer Cannot be Found.

Note: If the following screen appears, tap OK, and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to a network. Once the network connection is complete, skip ahead to Step 12.

7. Tap Auto Connection (recommended).

8. Tap No

9. Prepare connection on printer.

10. In Wi-Fi settings screen on iPhone/iPad/iPod touch, tap network name (SSID) starting with "Canon_ij_."

11. Return to application screen, select Confirm that you prepared the printer. checkbox, and then tap Next.

Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to a network.

Note: If the following screen appears, tap OK, and then follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to a network. Once the network connection is complete, proceed to the next step.

12. Check if your printer appears at the top of the screen.

When the registered printer appears at the top of the screen, setup is complete.

If the following screen appears, check that your printer name is displayed.

If your printer name is displayed, perform the setup again from Step 4; if not, perform from Step 6.

Note: The following screen appears only when registering a printer.
